Homestead Application

Welcome to the Lee County Property Appraiser's Office on-line filing for Homestead Exemption.

There are two ways to apply, depending on certain criteria. Carefully review the requirements described below and select the application process that applies to you.

If you meet ALL of the criteria below:

• You must be a U.S. citizen or posess a permanent resident card.
• You must have a current Florida Driver's License or Florida ID card. It MUST show the address of the property you are homesteading.
• You are not married, OR you are married and you have your spouse's Driver License or Florida ID number.

If ANY of the criteria below apply:

• You are applying for Homestead Exemption for owners other than you and your spouse.
• You are married and your spouse is NOT applying (you must enter your spouse's SSN).
• You have a partial interest in the property that you are applying for.

* I understand that under section 196.131(2), F.S., any person who knowingly and willfully gives false information to claim homestead exemption is guilty of a misdemeanor of the first degree, punishable by imprisonment up to one year, a fine up to $5,000, or both.
